Tyler Penton-Beer
Software engineer · Founder, Beer Tech Studios LLC · Castle Rock, Colorado
Tyler has been building software since he was nine years old, and professionally for over a decade — most of it engineering and integrating applications for major medical companies, where software has to be reliable, secure, and usable by people who didn't choose it. That's the standard he brings to small businesses.
The project that defines the studio
The work Tyler is proudest of was a website for a business owner who finds reading and writing difficult. Off-the-shelf website builders were a wall, not a tool. So the site shipped with an admin console the owner can talk to — speak a change and it happens, hear the site read back instead of reading it — plus plain-language guidance everywhere a form field would normally assume literacy comes free.
That project became the studio's test for everything it builds: if the owner can't comfortably run their own site, the job isn't done. Accessibility isn't a checkbox on the public pages — it starts with the person holding the keys.
A decade where software has to work
By day, Tyler works as a software engineer in enterprise healthcare — developing and integrating applications for major medical companies, including a rapid discovery tool he built to help engineering teams find answers in minutes instead of days. Healthcare software doesn't get to be flaky, confusing, or expensive to keep alive. Those habits — automation over manual work, ease of use over feature lists, boring reliability over novelty — are the whole method here.
Built to cost almost nothing to keep
Beer Technologies specializes in sites with low — often near-zero — monthly running costs. No page-builder subscription, no agency retainer for copy changes, no surprise hosting bill. The architecture does the maintenance: content updates are yours to make in plain language, follow-ups and scheduling run themselves, and the hosting is engineered to sit in the free tiers of serious infrastructure.
